El chopo ("Populus nigra") ha perdido ya casi la totalidad de las hojas. Las del álamo están ya amarillas por el haz y comienzan a caer. La retama ("Retama sphaerocarpa") ha dejado caer las semillas y permanecen las vainas ennegrecidas en las plantas. Todo el suelo del soto está cubierto de hojarasca.
FAUNA: En el Galacho de La Alfranca pueden verse varias especies de aves: aguilucho pálido y aguilucho lagunero, y, aunque en menor cantidad todavía, cercetas y garzas reales. Con facilidad en esta época es posible la observación de diversas especies de aves acuáticas en el Galacho de la Cartuja: ánade real ("Anas platyrhynchos") con su plumaje de invierno o de "eclipse", cerceta común ("Anas crecca"), focha ("Fulica atra"), polla de agua ("Fallinula chloropus") y garza real ("Ardea cinerea").
NOTICIAS DE LA RESERVA: Continúan los trabajos de restauración del ecosistema ribereño que cuentan con financiación europea del programa LIFE/NATURALEZA. Durante la semana, el Centro de interpretación ha permanecido cerrado por obras.
