Aún hay nieve en las zonas altas aunque los prados van verdeando al fondo de los valles. Los bosques, sin embargo, siguen sin hojas, tan sólo algo en el fresno. El tiempo aún no se ha estabilizado, es cambiante, con días de calor y días de nieve. Las pistas están en malas condiciones y en las partes altas hay bajadas frecuentes de piedras sueltas. Las flores son las únicas que parecen esforzarse por anunciar la primavera: dafne, diente de perro, gencianas azules, nomeovides, azafrán de marzo...
Se ven aves que van llegando de las áreas de invernada: mirlo capiblanco, cuco, avión común, golondrina... Asoman de sus madrigueras las primeras marmotas.
