Finalizando la época otoñal para la vegetación, con la caída de las hojas de la mayoría de las frondosas, el abedul (Betula pendula) es una especie que se encuentra en floración. Las yemas de muchos árboles se refuerzan con las llamadas "escamas gemarias" como protección invernal. La nieve se asienta por encima de los 1.500-1.600 metros, y , desde el jueves, desde cotas mucho más bajas, con abundancia de "estorrenteras" o pequeñas caídas de agua como consecuencia de la nieve fundida durante el día, y hielo en las carreteras de la zona.
FAUNA: Estas fechas son de cortejo para varias especies, como sarrio, jabalí y quebrantahuesos. Pueden observarse en prados subalpinos pequeñas colonias de perdiz pardilla (Perdix perdix).
