Todo el valle está cubierto de nieve, los días transcurren en general despejados, con algunas nubes y las fuertes heladas nocturnas características de esta época. En las zonas más altas soplan rachas heladas de viento.
Las frondosas continúan sin hojas y la nieve que se acumula en las copas produce la rotura de las ramas. Sólo se aprecia fruto en el rosal silvestre.
Las hembras del sarrio se encuentran en celo. Estos animales se han visto obligados a bajar a los valles para encontrar comida, y sus huellas se aprecian por doquier en la nieve, junto con las de corzos, jabalíes, zorros... Se observan bandadas de carboneros y herrerillos en los bordes de los caminos y el vuelo del quebrantahuesos y de los milanos reales.
